Posters

Here are a few posters that are for single songs. These include ones from artists in my case studies. I like the way The Weeknd's and Juicy J's one overlaps each other and the lettering/font in all of them. We will use these as inspiration and as a guideline when we begin to create ours. The only cover that uses a shot from their video is Shakira's as her's is pop genre but the others that fit our genre use different shots, such as J Cole's which seems like a car window that is lit up red. This is different to his song but it stands out and is noticeable and easy to remember. I've noticed that they use a different font for the name of the single and then a separate font for the artist themselves. This is a typical convention that we should consider.

Group Meeting

Today in lesson we discussed the plans we need to make for the pitch. We looked at various album covers on amazon including Tinashe's latest album and school boy Q's album and Trilogy by the Weeknd. We liked these because of their designs however some wasn't similar genres to the Weeknd because he is such a unique artist. We tried to look at albums that have similar themes to our music video so we saw A$AP Rocky's album which looked similar to the bad tv effect we have throughout our video. This helped us to draw ideas on what case studies we can do that would be good to link into our pitch. We thought about what technology we wanted to present our pitch on, for example Prezi, Slideshare or Emaze. We started to create ideas on how we want our album cover and poster to look. We looked at different images, e.g one image we took whilst filming our balloon scene gave us inspiration for the poster or album cover but we are still undecided. We started to think about the types of poses we could use and how the male and female can interact in the pictures. We looked through different images shot by the Weeknd in his videos to help us to create ideas.

Filming our Scene

Whilst on Instagram I noticed this picture Rihanna posted and got inspiration for the outfit in the balloon scene. I liked the high socks as I thought they was simple yet tasteful. I also liked her poses that she's doing in her pictures and thought I can try incorporate them into the music video.
